Major Roger Healey

Wild swinging bachelor Roger Healey, Major Nelsons best friend and confidant. The only other person who knew of Jeannie's existence before their marriage. Plus the only person Tony had to protect Jeannie from. Not from harm but from magical abuse. It could be snowing in Alaska, flooding in the Sahara and Roger would be happy so long as his requests were met. While immensely selfish Roger sticks by Tony's side during all of his wild adventures. Roger truly is a real pal.

The character of Roger Healey portrayed by Bill Daily is one of the show's biggest strong points. The bumbling, confused and corn pone humored element he created helped relieve tension between Nelson and Bellows. While adding more confusion between Nelson and Jeannie. The comic timing and delivery on Daily's behalf is classic and timeless.

Trivia Note: Roger wore a green uniform signifying his detatched service from the Army.

"Billy, God you gotta love him, we spent so many hours coming up with ways to liven up the scripts. Ways to make scenes move faster. He was a real trooper, being completely dyslexic and had never had to learn lines before. He was all improv before Jeannie, but he made it work he really hung in there and got his lines down," - Larry Hagman.
